Picture of SandyI grew up in Lorain, Ohio, a small town on the shores of Lake Erie. After marrying Mike Powers, also from Lorain, Mike and I moved to Kent, Washington, a small town outside of Seattle, Washington, where we raised our two daughters.  When our daughters traveled across the country to attend college, Mike and I decided to transplant ourselves and settle in Englewood, Florida, a small town outside of Sarasota. A small town girl is how I describe myself.

When I was diagnosed with cancer and liver disease, I became an active participant with my doctors in the decision making.  After my mastectomy for breast cancer, I turned to organic foods to heal my liver.  After six months, my liver healed.  Organic food has become my mainstay to prevent cancer recurrence.  I feel great and owe it to organic eating.

We have lived in Englewood for 19 years.  There is nothing we like better than chasing after our grandsons.
